Breathe

Have you ever had a moment that took your breath away? A moment you had to catch your breath? Or maybe a moment of deeply focussed breath as you pump out a few reps at the gym......


This week I would like to remind us all to breathe. Yes Breathe. I know, I know - I hear you saying it happens automatically why do I need to be reminded to breathe? Answer: Because more often then not we are all moving at such a pace through our day that we don’t actually stop to breathe properly. Not only does breathing benefit us physically but the emotional and mental benefits of stopping to breathe are vast. Your body (especially your brain) really likes fresh oxygen and it likes to get rid of toxins as we breathe out carbon dioxide.


So, why not take 5 right now....


Take a deep breath in through your nose, aiming to expand your diaphragm


Hold the breathe for 3 seconds


Exhale through your mouth


Repeat 3-4 times


Now how do you feel?


Can I encourage you during this full December season to stop and breathe and take time to think about breathing during the day. Your body and soul will thank you!
